Gouda UXO at Explosive Remnants of War Conference

9 juni 2026

Gouda UXO-Equipment attended the conference Explosive Remnants of War from WW2: Lessons from the Past… Safety for Today, organised by Bombs Away B.V. Our Sales Manager, Bas Lamers, represented the company at this event.

The conference addressed an important and ongoing challenge in soil investigation, infrastructure and construction projects: the presence of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and other explosive remnants of war.

In the Netherlands and beyond, remnants from the Second World War can still be present below the surface. When discovered unexpectedly during construction or infrastructure work, they can pose significant safety risks and lead to project delays, additional costs and disruption to planning.

Effective UXO risk mitigation therefore starts well before work begins on site.

Thorough preparation, reliable detection methods and appropriate equipment help project teams identify potential risks at an early stage and implement the necessary safety measures.

For Gouda UXO-Equipment, this is where engineering and safety come together. Our equipment supports deep UXO detection and intrusive investigations, enabling specialists to collect reliable measurement data in demanding ground conditions.

We thank Bombs Away B.V. for organising this valuable conference and all speakers for sharing their knowledge and experience.

Lessons from the past continue to shape safer decisions today.
